- Quality control checks – DNA quantification and various electrophoresis methods
- Library preparations and DNA normalisations
- Bacterial culturing – a range of diverse organisms under a variety of conditions
- Bespoke method development and R&D – collaborating to design and optimise protocols for unique sample types
- ‘Helping hands’ support – from assisting with a single experiment to providing long-term project support
- Training and mentoring – offering pathogen CL2 training, specialist equipment sessions and assistance with CL3 laboratory work
How We Work
We collaborate closely with scientists across the Parasites and Microbes Programme, offering a responsive and reliable service based on technical knowledge, best practice and effective teamwork.
With extensive experience across numerous extraction methods, sample types, kits and platforms, the team provides a shared pool of technical expertise and resources that strengthens the Programme’s research capacity. We also collaborate with other on-site teams – from Scientific Operations to Health and Safety – to ensure safe, efficient, and high-standard laboratory operations.
