Fani is a developmental biologist and is using histology and high-throughput spatial genomics tools in a number of neuroscience-related projects in the Bayraktar lab.

Using spatial transcriptomics to profile the human cerebral cortex in development and disease.

My main projects involve:

  • profiling brain cancer cells and their interaction with the tumour microenvironment
  • mapping the different neuronal and glial cells in developing Trisomy 21 brains
