Elena Winheim is a postdoctoral fellow in the Haniffa lab who is using single-cell technologies to understand the development and function of immune cells.

Elena is analysing immune cells from human skin, blood and organoids using single-cell sequencing techniques to understand their relevance and function during development and aging in steady-state and disease. In 2022, she received her PhD in immunology from Ludwig Maximilians University, exploring the function of dendritic cells and monocytes in antiviral immune responses to SARS-CoV-2 and to yellow fever vaccine virus.
