Gabriele's current research takes advantage of cutting-edge genome editing technologies and advanced preclinical models to identify cancer cells' genetic vulnerabilities and model tumour-immune cells interactions.
Gabriele joined the Translational Cancer Genomics team as a postdoctoral research fellow in 2016, following his PhD studies in the Candiolo Cancer Institute (Italy). During his doctoral studies, Gabriele studied cancer genetics and precision medicine in colorectal cancer.
Dependency on the WRN helicase is retained in therapy-refractory colorectal cancers.
Identification of the WRN helicase as a potential therapeutic target in microsatellite-unstable tumors.
Functional linkage of gene fusions to cancer cell fitness assessed by pharmacological and genetic screening.
