She is interested in understanding the evolutionary dynamics of infectious diseases, how they are affected by human interventions, and their impact on global health.
Overview
I am a data scientist currently working on the end-to-end genomic surveillance of malaria parasites. Genomic surveillance allows the tracking of variation of parasites around the world, and this information can be used to identify spatiotemporal drug resistance trends, transmission patterns, and vaccine efficacy. This information can be used to inform public health decision-makers which can impact disease control and prevention.
