LncRNAs in Malaria

My PhD project explored the role of long noncoding RNAs in the parasite that causes malaria (Plasmodium falciparum). I combined both bioinformatics and experimental approaches to their study. The key findings of my work include:

  • generating a lncRNA annotation
  • developing CRISPR-based tools
  • disrupting lncRNAs with CRISPR-based approaches
  • characterising P. falciparum lncRNAs
