Beatrice is a Work Stream Manager at the Global Alliance for Genomics and Health (GA4GH), where she provides expert project management support to international standards development teams. In her role, she helps guide strategy and implementation across two to three GA4GH Work Streams, coordinating international task teams and knowledge exchange projects from initial concept through delivery and external communications.
Beatrice’s work focuses on enabling collaboration across diverse stakeholders, including researchers, clinicians, policy experts, and technologists, while aligning the goals of Work Streams with GA4GH’s overall mission. She plays a key role in setting priorities and supporting decision-making for both the Work Streams she manages and the GA4GH Executive and Steering Committee.
Prior to joining GA4GH, Beatrice worked on the VEuPathDB project (Eukaryotic pathogen, vector and host informatics resources) where she led an international team of genome curators focused on improving the annotation of kinetoplastid and fungal genomes within a large-scale, collaborative bioinformatics initiative. She oversaw the integration and curation of key datasets, engaged the research community to enhance coverage of under-annotated species and high-priority gene sets, and contributed to the development of computational online resources supporting parasitology research.
Beatrice holds a postgraduate degree in Bioinformatics, and her career has centered on building bridges between science and technology. She is particularly interested in advancing responsible and equitable genomic data sharing worldwide, ensuring that standards developed within GA4GH are informed by diverse perspectives and are implemented across real-world healthcare and research settings.
