Management Operations
Health and safety is an integral part of "doing science" at the Wellcome Sanger Institute and it is our group mission to enable that to occur. We do this through providing the help, advice and support the Campus management require to effectively manage health and safety within their teams. Our team ethos is to be knowledgable, engaging, approachable and pragmatic. Our key strengths are our diverse expertise in health and safety. From life sciences to construction and facilities, ergonomics to fire safety.
We enable science through the following:
- Producing clear, sensible and proportional policy, codes of practice and guidance on a wide range of topics.
- Providing training courses, developed and delivered for the Sanger Institute’s needs.
- Undertaking an audit and inspection programme to ensure the Teams are achieving legal compliance and supporting management needs.
- Being the first point of contact with the regulatory authorities and supporting the Teams when they visit and inspect.
