The Pf3k project is a global collaboration using the latest sequencing technologies to provide a high-resolution view of the natural variation in the malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum. In January 2026 MalariaGEN's administration moved to Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine.

The Pf3k web application provides an interactive view of pilot data release 3 by the Pf3k project, a global collaboration using the latest sequencing technologies to provide a high-resolution view of the natural variation in the malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum. The project is led by researchers at the Wellcome Sanger Institute, the Broad Institute, and the University of Oxford. In January 2026 MalariaGEN's administration moved to Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine.
