Advanced Research Assistant

Alumni

This person is a member of Sanger Institute Alumni.

I am an Advanced Research Assistant in the Genetics of Instinctive Behaviour research group. My primary responsibilities are to carry out molecular biology and mouse behavioural experiments. I also support other team members' research and help facilitate the smooth running of the lab as a local co-ordinator.

At the Sanger I have worked on a variety of projects using mouse models to further our understanding of behaviour and other areas of interest. I have been involved in many aspects, from gene targeting and genotyping to immunohistochemistry and behavioural assays.

As well as developing a wide range of molecular biology and animal assay techniques, I also have taken on numerous support and organisation roles such as local co-ordinator, first aider, and radiation protection supervisor.
