What I do
I’m a principal software developer in the Adams group, delivering the computational side of DERMATLAS, a TCGA-style atlas of 60+ skin cancers across 3500+ samples. I built the platform and co-built pipelines that run its quality control and analyses so our scientists can spend more time doing what they love in the confidence of audit trails and reproducible results.
I also work with PhD students and postdocs across the group on projects from machine learning for saturation genome editing to comparative oncogenomics. Along the way I’ve introduced modern programming practices to my bioinformatician teammates reinforcing the team’s culture of support and integrity.
Before joining the group, I worked in COSMIC and Mutographs Cancer Grand Challenge developing the Mutational Signatures resource, before becoming a technical product owner. With a background in biochemistry, I most enjoy working closely with scientists. I’m particularly interested in making computational research reproducible, human-friendly and extensible.
