From genotype to phenotype: mechanisms of clonal expansion in blood ageing and cancer
Dr Laura Mincarelli is a postdoctoral researcher in the Rahbari’s team.
Her research focuses on understanding the mechanisms governing clonal expansion, with particular emphasis on the functional impact of somatic driver mutations on downstream molecular and cellular processes, and how these disrupt normal tissue homeostasis and differentiation hierarchies, ultimately leading to disease. To this end, she develops cutting edge genotype-to-phenotype single cell approaches and apply those to elucidate the mechanisms driving clonal hematopoiesis and leukemia initiation.
