During his time at Sanger, Matt applied his experience as a storyteller in the commercial, cultural, academic and not-for-profit sectors to genome research. He worked across the Institute's five programmes to help bring its groundbreaking science to the wider world.
He also led on developing a communications strategy and network for the Darwin Tree of Life project during its early years, culminating in the project being featured on the BBC’s flagship 10’Clock News programme in 2022.
