Studying gene flow in environmental bacterial community samples with particular interest in bacteria from Enterobacteriaceae and Vibronaceae that are human pathogens.
  • Can we predict the emergence of new pathogenic bacterial lineages from environmental pools of diversity?
  • Can we better understand how current epidemic lineages emerged by studying them at a bacterial community level?
