Leveraging large-scale high-quality host genome sequencing projects to explore the diversity of host-microbe associations across the Tree of Life

I am an evolutionary biologist studying interactions between insects and symbiotic microbes, particularly in the context of heritable bacteria that manipulate their host reproduction or confer benefits such as protection against natural enemies. In my research, I have used a range of approaches, from bacterial genomics to phylogenetics and experimental evolution. My current research aims to provide new insights into the genomic diversity and evolution of host-microbe interactions across the tree of Lepidoptera (butterflies & moths) using high-quality and large-scale host sequencing data generated through Project Psyche and the Darwin Tree of Life Project.
