Postdoctoral Fellow

I am a machine learning engineer and computational biologist by training, with a research focus on the development and refinement of genomics foundation models. My interests lie at the intersection of causal and interpretable artificial intelligence, cancer genomics, and cell biology, with the broader goal of uncovering fundamental principles underlying complex biological systems through computational approaches.

AI with Saturation Genome Editing

As a postdoctoral fellow at Wellcome Sanger Institute, I am training interpretable foundation genomic language models (gLMs) to inform lab experiments. We are using the dense nucleotide resolution map of the functional activity of haplotype cells – generated using saturation genome editing experiments – to dissect the activity patterns of trained genomic language models and find commonalities in different genomic regions to prioritise the next set of lab experiments.
