Gareth Griffiths

Advanced Research Assistant

Gareth is an Advanced Research Assistant in Gosia Trynka's group. He is using high-throughput technologies to investigate the link between immune disease variants to T-cell activation and regulatory T-cell suppression.

After working in the Forensic industry for several years, I joined the Wellcome Sanger Institute and worked as part of the Stem Cell Mutagenesis group generating knock-out lines in mouse embryonic stem cells and progressing to using the newly emerging CRISPR/Cas9 technologies for high-throughput gene editing in human-IPS cells. I have spent several years in high-throughput environments where I have worked on projects to adapt and validate methods to be used in a high-throughput function.

Outside the lab, I enjoy rugby and music.
