Dr Chuling Ding

Postdoctoral Fellow

I work as a postdoctoral research fellow focussing on genomics and somatic mutations in respiratory disease. I am paricularly interested in somatic evolutions in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, cystic fibrosis and early stages of lung cancers.

Somatic mutations in respiratory diseases

The main focus of my work is to study the somatic mutational processes in a couple of respiratory diseases, with the aim to find causative and/or protective mutations in certain disease environment. I also work on functional assays to characterise early stage lung cancers and deciphering aetiologies of mutational signatures induced by tobacco smoking.

Prior to my postdoc, I completed my MSc in cancer phD in cancer genomics at UCL cancer institute, where I work on algorithm designs to study copy number heterogeneity and single-cell multi-omics. I graduated with double major in medicine and pure mathematics from Peking University, Beijing in 2017.
