Claudia Arnedo Pac is a postdoctoral researcher investigating the causes and consequences of DNA changes in human tissues

I study how our cells accumulate DNA alterations during life, and how this results in an evolutionary process shaping our tissues over time. To do this, I leverage state of the art technologies, such as error-corrected DNA sequencing and spatial transcriptomics, to interrogate different healthy tissues and diseases including cancer. Understanding both the causes and consequences of somatic mutagenesis has implications for how we diagnose, treat and prevent disease.
