I am a PhD student (Gates Cambridge Scholar) at the University of Cambridge, Department of Public Health and Primary Care. My PhD supervisor is Dr Manj Sandhu. I am also a member of the Sandhu Group at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute.

I am currently working on characterisation of population and clinical epidemiology of hepatitis C virus infection in sub-Saharan Africa. This builds on my previous involvement in infectious diseases epidemiology research. I hold a master of public health (MPH) degree from Harvard University, USA, and a doctor of medicine (MD) degree from the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
