Dr Dinithi Sumanaweera
Senior Bioinformatician
Prior to joining the Biodiversity Cell Atlas team, Dinithi was a Principal Scientist in Data Science at GSK. Previously, she was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Prof. Sarah Teichmann’s lab, studying Bayesian probabilistic models for comparing in vitro and in vivo systems using their single-cell transcriptomic profiles (specifically on aligning single-cell developmental trajectories). Dinithi did her PhD at Prof. Arun Konagurthu’s lab in Monash University, Australia, where she worked on protein alignment modelling. She is a Computer Science and Engineering graduate from University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka.
