Dr Kevin Howe
Head of Analysis Ready Data
Kevin leads a team engaged in the design and implementation of large-scale data infrastructure and tooling for a number of projects in the Parasites and Microbes programme. The team is create data platforms that are capable of ingesting highly diverse and multi-modal data (such as climate and geopolitical data), and integrating these data with genomic data produced by the institute and by partners. A key project for the team is the provision a data integration and analysis platform for a Wellcome-funded project exploring the impact of climate change on the gut microbiome, in collaboration with the icddr,b. Kevin is also a Co-PI on the Wellcome-funded AdvISO project, which aims to create a modular set of open-source tools and documentation to enable the provision of ISO-accreditable bioinformatics services is resource-limited settings (such as LMICs).
