Senior Technical Specialist 

In my role I prepare histological samples for scientists, who are carrying out cancer research.

I have over 47 years experience, specialising in Histology. My experience was gained working in  contract toxicology labs , Cambridge University and for the last 20 years at the  Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute.

I set up the Somatic Genomics Programme Histology lab in 2017, which I now lead and run on a daily basis. The lab specialises in Histology for Laser Capture  Disection Microscopy. DNA and RNA is extracted for various types of sequencing.

A big part of my role is supervising and assisting Phd students and  scientists, so they can achieve the results required for their research.
