My PhD work focuses on understanding how maternal gene expression and its genetic regulation change over the course of pregnancy, and how these processes can help us understand pregnancy complications. To do this, I analyze longitudinal RNA sequencing and genotyping data from over 1,000 pregnant individuals from the Pregnancy Outcome Prediction Study 2 (POPs2). Using longitudinal transcriptomic and eQTL approaches, I characterize dynamic changes in the maternal immune system across gestation.
