Research and Project Management Team Lead (Human Genetics and Generative Genomics)

I am currently the Interim Research and Project Management Team Lead within the Human Genetics and Generative Genomics Programmes. I lead a multidisciplinary team of four, spanning Research Management and Project Management, providing both line management and technical oversight. I adopt a coaching-led leadership style, supporting individuals to develop while ensuring the effective delivery of complex programmes. Alongside this, I lead a portfolio of process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency, consistency and scalability within the team.

Prior to this, I worked as a Business Analyst and Process Improvement Lead, where I drew on my scientific background and analytical skillset to identify opportunities to strengthen operational delivery, particularly at the interface between research and programme execution. I was responsible for horizon scanning and for driving process improvement and standardisation, with a focus on creating streamlined, sustainable ways of working that support high-quality research delivery.

A key aspect of my role involved working closely with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to understand complex business processes, requirements and gaps. I translated these into clearly defined change initiatives, assessing their impact and leading the capture, analysis and documentation of requirements, and supporting their effective communication and implementation across multidisciplinary teams.

Earlier in my career, I spent several years in Research Management. I hold the ARMA Advanced Certificate in Research Management, as well as the APM Project Management Qualification.

Alongside my core role, I am a trained Mental Health First Aider, with additional specialist training in suicide intervention through ASIST. I have been serving as Co-Chair of the Employee Partnership since 2022; reflecting my commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive working environment.
