Alan manages projects across the Sanger Institute and Genome Campus and has been part of the Sanger Institute PMO (Programme Management Office) since January 2014.
After graduating with an Electrical and Electronic Engineering Honours degree I quickly moved into technical roles in the fields of multimedia and robotic automation.
I progressed into Project Management and have managed highly complex projects in the fields of robotic automation for tissue culture and DNA storage to the life-science industry world-wide.
I then moved to a role for 5 years to manage the supply and installation of technically complex robotic TV systems to broadcasters around the world for a large global broadcasting supplier.
I have been managing projects for 15 years and have been in the Institute's PMO since early 2014, where I manage a wide range of projects across teams and campus including the recently re-designed Sanger Institute website.
