Management Operations
The Grants Office at the Wellcome Sanger Institute is responsible for overseeing the acquisition and management of all third party research funding for the Wellcome Sanger Institute and Connecting Science. Our primary focus is to broaden Sanger’s portfolio and optimise its third party funding by supporting the organisation and its researchers throughout the grant lifecycle.
We are responsible for managing research grant/fellowship applications, ensuring compliance with our funder’s terms and conditions and working with our legal team to secure academic research collaboration agreements. We use Unit 4’s Research Costing and Pricing system to manage the costing element and obtain committee approvals for our third party applications and awards, which offers security and consistency across the organisation.
