The first approach is a whole genome shotgun assembly, with subsequent automated annotation in EnsEMBL (http://www.ensembl.org/Danio_rerio/). The second is a classical clone mapping and clone-by-clone sequencing approach with subsequent manual annotation, displayed by the Vega web browser (http://vega.sanger.ac.uk/Danio_rerio/).
