Passionate about understanding human disease, and drug development. Studied Pharmacy for my Bachelor's degree at Cairo University, and Biotechnology for my master's at the American University in Cairo. Had a versatile work experinces starting at pharmaceutical industry, then a clinical research organization, before shifting to academia. During my master's I studies the role of COBRA1 in hepatocellular carcinoma through functional analysis, also worked on generating hepatocellular carcionoma cell lines. Currently working on mapping genetic variants that underlie gene regualtion in intestinal cell types in Crohn's disease, through single cell sequencing.
