Dr Max Brown
I'm a Senior Bioinformatician working with the genomes coming out of the Darwin Tree of Life Project.
My main focus is on plant genomics. I am working on two main projects at the moment – the first is mutation genomics of the Birnam Oak tree, and the second is genomic diversity in apples in the UK.
As well as plant genomics, I enjoy programming and have implemented several bioinformatic tools which are used within Tree of Life. I am currently implementing Genomes on a Tree (GoaT) as a command line application. To see all the open source software, please visit the Tree of Life GitHub page.
