Sanger Institute Translation Office

The Translation Office promotes the translation of the extraordinary scientific output of Sanger Institute research into healthcare benefits.

The Sanger Institute seeks to improve human and animal health by uncovering the genetic basis of disease and facilitating translation of its findings into novel diagnostics, therapeutics or other preventative measures. New opportunities for healthcare improvement continually arise as the Institute grows its research base, applies biological understanding to genomic data, and proactively engages with the clinical and regulatory communities to enhance our science.

We established our Translation Office in 2011 to maximise the impact of the Institute's discoveries. We seek open dialogue with potential partners, so that we can rapidly and effectively identify areas of common interest and the most appropriate partnering model. To explore how we can work with you, please contact us.

The Sanger Institute's research has already produced marketed technologies that have realised patient benefit in a variety of settings. We work with research, clinical and commercial partners to:

  • discover and develop information, platform technologies and early- and late-stage products
  • enable further biomedical research through the creation and supply of genomic technologies and shared resources.

We welcome the opportunity to develop new contacts with interested parties and continually explore how best our research can deliver world-class therapies and technologies with commercial and academic partners. We pride ourselves in being flexible and imaginative in adapting our approach to deliver the maximum output for any project or relationship.
