Mrs Kyriaki Dede
Research Manager - Somatic Genomics Programme
I graduated from the University of Patras (Greece) with a B.Sc. in Biology in 2007. In 2008, I was awarded the Leventis Foundation Distinguished Scholar Award and joined the laboratories of Prof. Fraguedakis-Tsolis and Prof. Chondropoulos to pursue an M.Sc. in Ecology, Management and Conservation of the Natural Environment. My postgraduate research focused on micromammals of the genus Mus across different habitats in Cyprus, using mitochondrial DNA and geometric morphometric analyses.
I joined the Wellcome Sanger Institute in July 2014 as a Malaria Programme Administrator. In January 2016, I moved to the Human Genetics Programme as a Research Administrator (now Research Manager), where I provided high-level organisational and operational support to the Programme and its Faculty. In October 2022, I became Team Lead for the Human Genetics and Generative & Synthetic Genomics Project and Research Management team, leading and developing a multidisciplinary team supporting complex research portfolios. In October 2025, I transitioned into my current Research Manager role within the Somatic Genomics Programme.
