Distinguished speakers

We invite inspirational male and female scientists and opinion leaders to share with us their perspective on the societal, cultural and personal issues facing women in science.

All talks are followed by networking sessions. We also conduct short filmed interviews of our speakers in order to capture salient points. Our invited speakers include Professor Dame Kay Davies, Professor Dame Janet Thornton, Dr Julie Makani, Dr Sally John, Professor Jane Worthington, Dr Patricia Alireza, Professor Suzanne Leal, Dr Susan Clarke, Professor Sir Mark Walport and Professor Sir Mike Stratton.

The Sex in Science programme is a joint initiative of the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute and the EMBL-European Bioinformatics Institute (EBI).
