For the Media
Contacts and information specifically for Broadcast, Print and Online Media reporters wishing to organise interviews, filming or visits.
Requests for interviews
Researchers from the Sanger Institute regularly meet journalists for interviews both for visual and written media. If you wish to speak to one of our research team, please contact the Media and Public Relations Office with an outline of your project and the kind of questions you would like to ask.
Requests for filming

As the leading genomics centre in Europe and one of the largest sequencing centres in the world, the Sanger Institute hosts many film crews for broadcast news, podcasts and documentaries. We welcome the opportunity to participate in projects that explore our research through the visual media. Enquiries about these should be directed to the Media and Public Relations Office, where the aims and contexts of the project can be explored in order to determine how the Institute and its staff might participate. This discussion would include a review of the programme brief, the programme's aims and context such as other locations and subjects who will or might feature in the project. For more information please contact the Media and Public Relations Office.
Journalists' visits
Over the years, we have welcomed many highly regarded science journalists to the Sanger Institute. These visits are intended to provide an up-to-date picture of the Institute as a whole and allow journalists to spend time with a select group of individuals from various research teams. This scheme has been very successful in the past, often leading to interesting broadcast and print stories about an aspect of the Institute's news. If you are interested in visiting the Sanger Institute, please contact the Media and Public Relations Office.
Briefings and Conferences
The Sanger Institute occasionally arranges live or active briefings for major research findings.
Educational visits
Visits by educational and other audiences are arranged by contacting the Public Engagement team.
