Webpage content and resources

We use the jQuery library throughout the site, metadata, hashchange, hover-intent, and tablesorter plugins, thickbox popup code, and the Raphaël graphics library. Additionally some icons have been taken from the SILK icon set.

Most of the site is served using Apache/mod_perl on virtual Ubuntu linux servers, some content is served through tomcat and solr.

On the live servers we use the advpng, optipng, pngcrush, jpegoptim, Google Closure Complier and Yahoo UI CSS minimizers, to optimize download speeds.

Additionally behind the scenes we make use of JSHint, Perl::Critic, HTMLtidy to help make our code easy to read and understand, and efficient, and subversion (svn) as the backbone of our content management framework.
