About the MapSeq software platform
MapSeq is a software platform that can be used with different pathogens and organisms. This software is open source so you can download it and adapt it to your specific data and project
requirements. A software repository will be published shortly after the first official release of MapSeq.
One of the goals of MapSeq is to create a community of users and developers that expand the capabilities of the platform. Do not hesitate to contact us if you want to
develop and share a specific piece of software using the MapSeq codebase. Any kind of feedback is highly appreciated,
you can reach us writing to jg10@sanger.ac.uk or om1@sanger.ac.uk.
About MapSeq/pf
MapSeq/pf is the Web site that manages the genomic data from the Plasmodium falciparum project, and is the first operational instance of the MapSeq platform.
Since the software was written in a generic fashion, it is being made available to other pathogen sequencing projects; other Web sites based on MapSeq will soon
appear alongside MapSeq/pf.
MapSeq/pf layer architecture
The schema below represents the MapSeq layer stack from the very low level (where you can explore the reads and the alignment) to the high level tools (like PCA plots).
Current version and requirements
This is still a beta version of the software (we are still working on it) that only supports the
Mozilla Firefox browser (
link) (with any other browser some of the tools may not work)
Moreover,
JavaScript should be enabled and you should pay special attention to any
pop-up blocker because some of the tools will try to open an auxiliary window to show the analysis result.
